Really impressive short film of UK-based artist and designer Seb Lester. It features two of his latest works and brief commentaries on his work as an artist and designer as well as his recent works. Excellent stuff if you’re into hand lettering, calligraphy and such. The works he’s speaking of and more of it can be found on his website.
Crazy and incredible series of hand-lettering and calligraphy works by Hawaii-based artist Matthew Tapia. He has an interesting Tumblr going on for those curious about his creative process and sketches he regularly uploads.

I’ve recently became strongly interested by customized typography, especially hand-lettering. My quest has brought me to mr. Ryan Hamrick, a Pittsburg, USA based talented designer and illustrator. He specializes in custom typography and hand-lettering. These are just examples of his works, more can be found on his website.
Inspiring video of New York native Jon Contino who was influenced and inspired by typical New York iconic advertising and street art. He has since then mastered the art of lettering and typographic illustration.
Emily Hale designed this very simple yet elegant bottle of wine as a tribute to Harvey Milk, who during his political career in the San Francisco fought for equal rights for the gay community throughout the nation. San Francisco also boasts some of California’s best wines which makes this a perfect combination for her school assignment. Check the continuing page for additional visuals. Very impressive!
“My boyfriends are now a bunch of big scum idiot zombie monsters, and they’re available for sale here”. I guess it doesn’t get more clearer what this is about. She drew a set of very amusing illustrations of her douchebag (ex, I’m presuming)-boyfriends. I guess it’s pretty straight-forward what she thinks about them. But besides that, I find that the comical caricatures are fucking amusing, particularly their face expressions. Simply priceless.
Kilian Eng is a graphic designer/illustrator based all the way up north of Europe, from the lovely country that is known for their fine women. You got that right, Sweden. His love for sci-fi, surrealism, odd futuristic architecture has defined him as an artist and acts as his main source of inspiration for most of his work. This rising star from the far east has easily to say a very peculiar way of defining his art work. Zhou Fan states that his pieces are “…based on dreams that I had as a child of many many jellyfish floating in the sky, some of which fell to the ground on parachures and became mushrooms. These dreams had a strong impact on me, and I remember them vividly. Somehow I feel that it is easier to focus on dreams than reality”. I couldn’t have said it any better. His attention to detail is staggering as well as his way of using colors to vividly captivate your mind into sharing his past visions. While you may think that his paintings are joyful, it somehow has some kind of sad undertone that gets you the longer you keep looking at it. These set of amazing – highly technical – illustrations done by the crew of an Austrian based creative studio, Atelier Olschinsky, immerses you in a world of colorful mind-boggling structures and well-defined details and textures, a real playing-field for your creative mind. Read on further for some of my favorite or check their Behance page for the full set. I would suggest to check their other work as well, they have a thing for odd shapes, textures and use of retro-ish colors.

Every month, I will curate a set of logo’s for you to chew on. These are all new logo’s of which most of them are works for clients. However, there may some that are student’s work or unused logo’s. As long as it stands out from the rest and has a witty, clever, clean, creative, inspiring or what not design, I’ll count it as an awesome job well done.

Like everyone else, your attention gets distracted by shit around you which is – obviously – much more fun to do than what you are currently doing. I even dare to say that they are far less important than what you actually have to get done. Deadlines sucks and 9gag ain’t helping. I know how you feel..
You wouldn’t expect that so much awesome shit would come from a country – Hell, is it even a country? – like Singapore. You would say that when we’re talking about clever design, size doesn’t matter, and in this case, it certainly isn’t. Earlier we mentioned an agency that came up with a clever brand positioning for something simple as an eatery. There is not much to say about Nayoun Kim’s work other than to just look at it and basically explore and discover. In a way her work somehow absorbs you to look even closer to make sure you didn’t miss anything. It kind of leaves you wondering. Superb work! I’d recommend you to check out her other works as well as her Society6. You might see something that would be a nice addition to your interior!
